When Nancy* quickly transitioned into supported care, her brother Peter was suddenly faced with the daunting task of selling her home. As the Power of Attorney and a senior himself, Peter lived out of town and was juggling the emotional and logistical weight of caring for his sister and preparing her home for sale.


The goal was clear: to help Peter pack up family items, and get the home listed as quickly as possible. While a project of this scale would typically take a family months to navigate, with the Sort & Simple team, Peter had a market-ready listing in just one week.

With Nancy and her necessary possessions already safely moved, our team stepped in to provide a comprehensive listing-ready preparation service that allowed the family to hand over the keys and head home with total peace of mind.


  • Day 1: Sorting & Packing Family Items


Shannon worked side-by-side with Peter and his wife to identify and pack the items they wanted to keep. She helped load a U-Haul with treasures, including sewing cabinets and family mementos, so they could make their trip back home confident their “keep items” were safe.


At this point, Peter handed Shannon the keys, confident the rest of the listing and estate clear-out process was in good hands, and allowing him to focus on his sister’s care.

  • Days 2 & 3: Strategic Decluttering & Staging


Over the next two days, our team of three Professional Organizers systematically cleared the home. We meticulously removed personal items while selectively retaining key pieces of furniture and decor for staging. By utilizing what was already in the home, we efficiently created a stylish, open layout that highlighted the property's potential.


We coordinated closely with their realtor, Lindsey Robbins of Blais Realty, to ensure the house met her high standards for professional photography. Lindsey’s expertise, combined with our decluttering and preparation, ensured the home was market-ready in record time.


When Lindsey and her real estate photographer arrived the following day, the house was tidy, inviting, and photo-ready.
